Wassup new blog readers,

I want to introduce you to the blog and me to you. I am Dan AKA DJ Dub Cowboy (when I play Reggae) AKA Mixmaster Crushington (when I play anything else). I have been a DJ in Humboldt County since 1999, when many of us "old timers" showed up on the scene. Before there was anything like Deep Groove Society, there were DJs holding it down like DJ Red, Gerber, Intuition, Flip, DJ Hal and others; stories of parties under the full moon and generators being dragged out into the woods go back a long way. So as we move into the future with a new medium, I want to pay respect to the founders.

I am coming onto the blog as a support member. I have volunteered to post the podcast recordings of the Sundaze events and post info here on the blog. My goal is to post new pictures, recordings and fun things to read on the weekly basis. I love the tribe, but I only go there for DGS related info. This site is meant to take up where that one gets logged off. In time, I hope to see multiple authors in the future and LOTS of comments. Anyone can respond to a thread, just like on tribe.

Blogs go one step further by way of the subscription. I highly recommend figuring out how to subscribe to an RSS feed. You can google it, or wait forever for me to post a tutorial. Basically, you save a bookmark that will be updated with a number in parenthesis. As new posts are made the number goes up, you get notified as soon as something is posted. I have a folder in my browser of many blogs that I read. When I click that bookmark, I see all the new info hitting the web.

Just to be clear, the DGS tribe is not going anywhere. However, new info will eventually be posted here before anywhere else. The blog is a site that is meant just for DGS related events and info. I also run another Reggae related blog called Massive Respect.com, a Mixmaster Crushingblog called CrushYard.Com and have a few more "in the works."

Enjoy the memories
